Ingredients

  • 1 qt. elderberries
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp. milk

Instructions

  1. Pour enough water in a pan to cover elderberries and boil for 15 minutes.
  2. Add sugar to the elderberries and heat until boiling.
  3. Stir in vinegar.
  4. Thicken the mixture with a water and flour slurry until it reaches gravy-like consistency.
  5. Stir in milk.
  6. Chill the filling overnight before using.
