Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon black walnut flavor
  • 3 cups chopped apples
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Beat vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and black walnut flavoring together.
  2. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  4. Blend well until smooth.
  5. Stir in chopped apples and nuts.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan.
  7. Sprinkle the top with a mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  8. Let stand for 1 hour.
  9. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour.
