Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 2 c water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 5 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan and brown the flour in it.
  2. Add water to the chili powder and dissolve it.
  3. Pour the chili water mixture into the browned flour and mix well.
  4. Add seasonings and blend thoroughly.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 5 minutes.
  7. Optional: Add evaporated milk to soften the flavor.
