- Combine the milk, sugar, vegetable oil, and salt in a saucepan and heat until scalded.
- Cool the mixture to lukewarm (105° to 115°). Dissolve the dry yeast in warm water and add to the mixture.
- Add the beaten eggs to the mixture.
- Gradually mix in 4 1/2 cups of plain flour to form a smooth dough, beating 50 to 100 strokes by hand.
- If the dough is too sticky, add more flour until it no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl and turn to grease the top.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise until doubled in size.
