- Combine sour cream, cream of chicken soup, margarine, chopped green onions, and half of the grated Cheddar cheese in a saucepan and heat.
- Peel and grate the boiled potatoes.
- Pour half of the warm cream mixture over the grated potatoes.
- Layer the remaining grated potatoes over the first layer and pour the rest of the cream mixture on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Spread the remaining cheese over the potatoes and bake for an additional 10 minutes at 350°F.
