Fannie'S Coconut Pie

- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Separate egg yolks and whites.
- Beat egg yolks; add sugar, flour, vanilla, salt, and vinegar; mix well.
- Pour milk into a saucepan. Add grated coconut and margarine.
- Heat on medium until margarine melts. Cool slightly.
- Pour the coconut mixture into the beaten egg yolk mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the filling into an unbaked pie shell.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 425°F (220°C).
- Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for an additional 30 minutes until the filling is firm.
- Top with meringue and bake until golden brown.
