Ingredients

  • 4 cups Matzoh farfel
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix beaten eggs, sugar, melted butter, and salt.
  2. Hold aside the peeled, cored, and sliced apples and raisins.
  3. Place farfel in a strainer and run cold water over it to rinse.
  4. Fold the farfel into the egg mixture until well combined.
  5. Grease a rectangular baking pan and spread one layer of farfel mixture on the bottom.
  6. Add one layer of apples and raisins on top of the farfel layer.
  7. Add the remaining farfel mixture on top, spreading evenly.
  8. Dot the top with small pieces of butter or margarine.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 45 minutes, until golden and set.
