Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 box (18.25 oz.) chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 3/4 to 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 48 chocolate star candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut the softened butter into the chocolate fudge cake mix in a large bowl until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the egg and water until well blended.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake until set and slightly browned, then top each blossom with a chocolate star candy and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
