Figgy Nut Pie
A luscious figgy nut pie featuring tender cooked figs layered with flaky biscuits, sweet spices, and topped with nuts, perfect for a comforting dessert or special occasion.

- Pick 3 quarts of fresh figs, leaving some on the bush for birds, bees, and insects.
- Remove stems and thick skin from the figs.
- Mash the figs slightly.
- Add sugar, lemon juice, and allspice to the mashed figs.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until the figs are transparent, about 7 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Grease an 11 x 14-inch pan.
- Pull apart the layers of the flaky biscuits.
- Layer biscuits in the prepared pan, spoon fig mixture over the biscuits, then add another layer of biscuits and more fig mixture.
- Sprinkle nuts on top of the pie.
- Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.
- Serve warm with ice cream.
