Ingredients

  • 1 cup scalded milk, cooled
  • 1 stick margarine, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/3 cup orange juice

Instructions

  1. Mix together scalded cooled milk, melted margarine, salt, sugar, yeast in warm water, honey, orange juice, and eggs.
  2. Add flour gradually, stirring until the dough is thick.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth.
  4. Let rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size, covering with plastic wrap.
  5. Shape the dough as desired (buns, cinnamon rolls, or coffee cake).
  6. Form into a circle in a round pan and slash with scissors.
  7. Let rise again until doubled.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes, or 25 minutes for rolls.
  9. Frost with powdered sugar icing, nuts, cherries, or serve with hot coffee and sugar.
  10. For glaze, sprinkle with sugar.
