Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb boiled beans
  • 1/4 lb bacon
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 (16 oz) can dry draft beer

Instructions

  1. Drain boiled beans and mix them in beer. Let sit for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. Slice green bell pepper and bacon into short, fine strips.
  3. Add barbecue sauce to the beans and beer mixture, then bring to a rapid boil over medium heat.
  4. Transfer the mixture to an ovenproof pan.
  5. Add remaining ingredients: sliced bacon, sliced peppers, cayenne pepper, salt, molasses, and beer.
  6. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 1 hour.
