Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 egg yolks
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, cocoa, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and milk together.
  3. Add the egg yolk mixture to the dry ingredients and combine.
  4. Cook the mixture in a double boiler until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  6. Pour the filling into a baked pastry shell.
  7. Top with meringue and bake or brown as desired.
