Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fillet of haddock or flounder
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 oz. melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. matzo meal
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Grind the fish fillet in a food grinder.
  2. Grate the onion on the fine side.
  3. In a bowl, combine beaten eggs, salt, pepper, melted butter, and gradually add cold milk.
  4. Add the grated onion and ground fish to the mixture and mix well.
  5. Put the mixture into a 9 x 9 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350° to 375° for 1 hour.
