Foil Baked Roast Beef

Juicy, tender roast beef baked in foil with savory mushroom and onion flavors, ideal for inexpensive cuts and perfect for a comforting, hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 5 lb. roast
  • 1/2 pkg. dry mushroom soup
  • 1/2 pkg. dry onion soup

Instructions

  1. Measure water and add enough to make 4 tablespoons if necessary.
  2. Place the roast on a large, heavy piece of foil.
  3. Mix the dry mushroom soup and dry onion soup together.
  4. Sprinkle the soup mixture over the top of the roast (no other seasoning needed).
  5. Dribble water or mushrooms and liquid over the soup.
  6. Seal the foil tightly around the roast.
  7. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 250°F oven for at least 5 hours.
  8. Don't try to hurry it.
