Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup bottled lemon juice
  • grated lemon rind (optional)
  • thin lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare a yellow cake mix according to package directions and bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish.
  2. While the cake is baking, mix powdered sugar with bottled lemon juice until the mixture is thin.
  3. When the cake is done and still hot, carefully poke holes all over the top of the cake with a fork.
  4. Pour the lemon glaze mixture evenly over the hot cake, allowing it to soak in.
  5. Optional: Garnish with grated lemon rind and thin lemon slices before serving.
