Ingredients

  • 4 c. unsifted flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Put the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and mix with a fork.
  2. Add the shortening and mix with a fork until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. In a small bowl, beat the water and egg with a fork.
  4. Combine the two mixtures until all are moistened.
  5. Divide the dough into 5 portions.
  6. Wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Unused portions store well in the freezer.
