Ingredients

  • 2 cups butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups golden raisins
  • 4 cups chopped pecans
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Mix raisins, chopped pecans, and 1/4 cup flour.
  5. Sift together the remaining dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Alternately fold in raisins, pecan mixture, and dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  7. Spoon into a greased and paper-lined 10-inch tube pan.
  8. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 1 hour and 50 minutes.
  9. Cool and remove from the pan.
