Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter
  • 1 small (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 package semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Heat sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a 3-quart heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Bring to a full rolling boil and cook until the candy thermometer reaches 234°F, about 4 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add semi-sweet chocolate bits, marshmallow cream, vanilla, and nuts to the hot mixture, stirring until smooth and well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into a prepared pan and let it cool until set before cutting into pieces.
