- With an electric mixer on low speed, blend almond paste, sugar, and butter until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Increase mixer speed to high and beat until batter is light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in cake flour and gently fold into the batter until just blended.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Spread with thin frosting or preserves before serving.
