Ingredients

  • 1 cup persimmon pulp
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 8 ounces pitted chopped dates

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Grease and flour a 10 x 16-inch baking pan.
  3. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
