A crisp, tangy frozen slaw perfect for summer or as a side dish, combining crunchy vegetables with a sweet and vinegary flavor profile that complements many meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 large heads cabbage
  • 8 onions
  • 5 carrots
  • 6 bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 pint white vinegar
  • 6 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Slice or grind the cabbage, onions, carrots, and bell peppers to desired thinness.
  2. Bring the remaining ingredients (salt, vinegar, sugar) to a boil and pour over the prepared vegetables.
  3. Put the mixture into freezer containers and freeze.
  4. Remove from freezer and let thaw as needed before serving.
