A hearty French-inspired baked beef dish featuring seasoned ground beef, melted Cheddar cheese, and flavorful vegetables served inside a crusty loaf of French bread, perfect for groups.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
  • 10.5 oz. can Cheddar soup
  • 10.5 oz. can tomato soup
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper in a large skillet.
  3. Add Cheddar soup and tomato soup to the skillet and heat thoroughly.
  4. Cut the top off the French bread loaf and remove the inside, tearing it into small pieces.
  5. Add the torn bread pieces to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the hot meat and bread mixture into the hollowed-out loaf.
  7. Cover the filled loaf with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  9. Cut into one-inch slices and serve hot.
