Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup syrup
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour.
  2. Blend the flour and chopped nuts.
  3. Bring the syrup, butter, and brown sugar to a boil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour and nuts into the boiling mixture.
  5. Drop batter by level teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5 to 6 minutes, baking 8 or 9 cookies at a time.
  7. Let the cookies set a little before removing from the cookie sheet.
