Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 stick butter

Instructions

  1. Put milk and egg in a small bowl.
  2. Beat the mixture and add flour, then mix until smooth.
  3. Set the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Prepare a pie pan (metal or glass) for each person.
  5. Cut butter or oleo; use it to grease the pie pan, leaving the rest in the pan.
  6. Put the greased pie pan in the oven for 5 minutes to heat.
  7. Ensure the butter or oleo does not brown.
  8. Quickly pour the batter into the heated pie pan.
  9. Tilt the pan slightly to spread the batter, but do not stir.
  10. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Remove from oven and set on a hot pad.
  12. Serve with syrup, jelly, fruit, or plain. The pancake will curl up like a bird's nest.
