- Put milk and egg in a small bowl.
- Beat the mixture and add flour, then mix until smooth.
- Set the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare a pie pan (metal or glass) for each person.
- Cut butter or oleo; use it to grease the pie pan, leaving the rest in the pan.
- Put the greased pie pan in the oven for 5 minutes to heat.
- Ensure the butter or oleo does not brown.
- Quickly pour the batter into the heated pie pan.
- Tilt the pan slightly to spread the batter, but do not stir.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and set on a hot pad.
- Serve with syrup, jelly, fruit, or plain. The pancake will curl up like a bird's nest.
