Ingredients

  • 10 oz. can onion soup (undiluted)
  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 4.5 oz. jar sliced mushrooms, undrained
  • 8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts, undrained
  • 1 cup uncooked regular rice

Instructions

  1. Combine the undiluted onion soup and melted margarine in a bowl and stir well.
  2. Drain the sliced mushrooms and water chestnuts, reserving the liquid.
  3. Add enough water to the reserved liquid to make 1 1/3 cups.
  4. Add all ingredients, including the rice, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and the liquid with added water, and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a lightly greased baking dish.
  6. Cover the dish and bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 1 hour.
