Fresh Blackberry Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 c. blackberries with juice
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Cook blackberries and mash up.
  2. Cream butter and sugar with mixer.
  3. Add other ingredients and mix by hand.
  4. Add berries and alternate with flour that has been sifted with all spices and soda.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating slightly.
  6. Pour into tube pan.
  7. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  8. Can use cream frosting or sour cream icing.
