Ingredients

  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • 4 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1 c. ice water

Instructions

  1. Mix self-rising flour and Crisco until combined.
  2. Add ice water gradually until the dough is moist and workable.
  3. Pour the dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  4. Divide dough into small pieces and roll out into rounds.
  5. Place cooked cold apples on the bottom half of each round.
  6. Fold the dough over the apples and press the edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Fry the filled pies in a skillet with 3 to 4 tablespoons of Crisco over medium-low heat until golden brown.
  8. Frost with a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk before serving.
