- Thaw pastry for 20 minutes at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Unfold the pastry sheet.
- Cut along the fold lines to create strips, then cut each strip crosswise into 7 rectangles, for a total of 21 pieces.
- Arrange pastry rectangles on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Prick each pastry several times with a fork.
- Bake in a 425°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until light brown.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
- Stir 3 to 4 teaspoons water into the canned chocolate frosting until smooth.
- Spoon the frosting over the warm pastries.
- Immediately sprinkle with chopped pistachio nuts or pecans.
- Cool thoroughly before serving.
