Delightful frosted pastry bites featuring flaky puff pastry topped with chocolate frosting and chopped nuts, perfect for parties, snacks, or sweet treats for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 (17 1/4 oz.) package frozen puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup canned chocolate frosting
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachio nuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Thaw pastry for 20 minutes at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Unfold the pastry sheet.
  3. Cut along the fold lines to create strips, then cut each strip crosswise into 7 rectangles, for a total of 21 pieces.
  4. Arrange pastry rectangles on an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Prick each pastry several times with a fork.
  6. Bake in a 425°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until light brown.
  7. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  8. Stir 3 to 4 teaspoons water into the canned chocolate frosting until smooth.
  9. Spoon the frosting over the warm pastries.
  10. Immediately sprinkle with chopped pistachio nuts or pecans.
  11. Cool thoroughly before serving.
