- Cream margarine and powdered sugar together.
- Stir in water and vanilla.
- Add all-purpose flour and a dash of salt, then mix well.
- Stir in chopped dates and pecans.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls.
- Place the balls 2 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake in a slow oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 20 minutes or until cookies are set but not brown.
- While warm, roll the cookies in powdered sugar.
