Ingredients

  • 4 cups vanilla wafers, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup red candied cherries
  • 1/2 cup green candied cherries

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix crushed vanilla wafers and butter.
  2. Press the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan to form the base.
  3. Top with chopped pecans and red and green candied cherries, arranging cherries in a decorative pattern.
  4. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top.
  5. Allow the mixture to set for a few minutes.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and cut into bars while still warm.
  8. Ensure not to overcook to maintain the desired texture.
  9. Let cool before serving. Ideal for Christmas gatherings.
