Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg

Instructions

  1. Drain the fruit cocktail from the number 2 can.
  2. Fold the drained fruit into the batter mixture.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 6 x 10 or 9 x 9-inch Pyrex pan.
  4. Mix together 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and nut mixture on top of the batter.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour.
