Fry bake chicken combines tender, seasoned fried chicken with a flavorful mushroom butter sauce, baked to perfection—ideal for comforting family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 (4 oz.) can chopped mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 chicken, quartered
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Melt oleo in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add chopped mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, parsley flakes, garlic powder, and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Fry unseasoned chicken pieces in hot deep fat for 15 minutes until cooked.
  4. Season each chicken piece and place in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the butter sauce over the chicken.
  6. Bake uncovered at 325°F for 45 to 60 minutes.
  7. Halfway through baking, add mushrooms to the dish.
  8. Turn and baste the chicken several times until fully cooked.
