Fudge Caramel Cake

Decadent fudge caramel cake combines rich chocolate, smooth caramel, and crunchy nuts for a delightful dessert perfect for celebrations or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz. can condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 14 oz. bag of caramels
  • chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9 x 13-inch pan with cooking spray.
  2. Pour 2 cups of cake mix into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from oven.
  4. In a medium saucepan, blend 1/2 cup butter, 14 oz. condensed milk, and 14 oz. bag of caramels over low to medium heat.
  5. Stir until melted and smooth.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture over the baked layer in the pan.
  7. Pour the remaining cake mix over the caramel layer.
  8. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top, if using.
  9. Bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes or until the center springs back when touched.
