Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a large tube pan.
  2. Mix all the ingredients together until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter into four equal parts.
  4. Pour one part of the batter into the prepared tube pan.
  5. Add 5 drops of green food coloring to the second part of the batter, mix well.
  6. Pour the green-colored batter around the center of the pan.
  7. Add 3 drops of red food coloring and 1 tablespoon of almond extract to the third part, mix well.
  8. Pour the red-colored batter into the pan.
  9. Add 1 square of melted chocolate to the fourth part of the batter, mix well.
  10. Swirl the chocolate batter into the pan to create a marbled effect.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
