Ingredients

  • 3 lb. potatoes, very thinly sliced and patted dry
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced finely
  • butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a casserole dish, rub the sides and bottom with butter.
  2. Layer the potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic, and small butter dots until the dish is almost full.
  3. Pour heavy cream over the layered potatoes until almost covered.
  4. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325°F.
  5. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F during the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
