Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, sugar, and Crisco together until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Gradually add flour and baking powder to the mixture.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour in milk and mix until batter is smooth.
  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan.
  7. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour.
  8. Turn off the oven and leave the cake in for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Remove the cake from the oven and let it sit in the Bundt pan for 20 minutes before removing.
