Ingredients

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • bacon

Instructions

  1. Cook all ingredients like you make gravy until thickened.
  2. Fry bacon and keep about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
  3. Saute about 1 cup of chopped celery in the bacon grease.
  4. Boil potatoes, cool, and slice.
  5. Chop raw onions finely and combine with sliced potatoes in a dish.
  6. Refrigerate overnight.
  7. In the morning, heat the sauce and pour over the potatoes and onions.
