Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 to 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Cream the butter and powdered sugar together.
  3. Add the flour, chopped pecans, vanilla, and water; mix well.
  4. Use hands to shape the dough into small shapes the size of dates.
  5. Place all cookies on a large, ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or overnight.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until barely tanned.
  8. Turn off the oven.
  9. Remove 8 to 12 cookies at a time, then replace the cookie sheet in the oven.
  10. Roll the cookies in powdered sugar and store in a closed container.
