Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, melted
  • 2 c. sorghum
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 tsp. powdered ginger
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs until light and frothy.
  2. Add brown sugar, powdered ginger, and melted butter; mix well.
  3. Stir in molasses, sour milk, baking soda, and flour until thoroughly combined.
  4. Mix until all ingredients are smooth and well incorporated.
  5. Grease and flour a baking pan.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake in a moderately hot oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Serve warm with your preferred sauce, such as Gingerbread sauce.
