Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. unsalted butter
  • 1/3 c. molasses
  • 1/3 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon; cut in the unsalted butter with a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly.
  2. Mix the molasses and milk together in a separate bowl.
  3. Add the molasses and milk mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.
