Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. thick sliced cooked ham
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Score the fat edge of the ham.
  2. Combine ginger ale, orange juice, brown sugar, vegetable oil, wine vinegar, dry mustard, ground ginger, and ground cloves to make the marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the ham in a shallow baking dish.
  4. Refrigerate overnight or let stand at room temperature for 1 hour, spooning marinade over the ham several times.
  5. Place the ham on a grill over slow coals.
  6. Cook for 15 minutes on each side, brushing frequently with the marinade.
  7. Heat the remaining marinade and serve with the ham.
