- Add chicken pieces and coat 2 to 3 pieces at a time.
- Heat margarine and Crisco in an electric skillet or cast-iron skillet until a drop of water sizzles in it.

- When lightly browned, reduce heat and add 2 tablespoons of water.
- Cover and cook for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Uncover the last 10 minutes of cooking.
