A rich, creamy traditional eggnog with bourbon and rum, perfect for festive gatherings and satisfying those craving a sweet, spiced holiday beverage.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart whipping cream
  • 12 eggs
  • 12 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 2 Tbsp. rum
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs into yolks and whites.
  2. Beat the egg yolks until pale.
  3. Add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, and beat after each addition.
  4. Stir in the bourbon and rum.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture a day ahead if desired.
  6. Just before serving, whip the cream and fold it into the egg mixture.
  7. Beat the egg whites until stiff, then fold into the mixture.
  8. Serve in cups or goblets, topped with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
