Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 cartons whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Add vinegar to the whipping cream and stir well.
  2. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl without using a mixer.
  3. Refrigerate the mixture for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured board into a pencil-thin strip, about a tablespoon of dough each.
  5. Shape each strip into a figure eight.
  6. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375°F for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Allow to cool, then freeze if desired.
  8. Serve with butter.
