Instructions
- Mix the ingredients and add enough plain flour to make a stiff dough.
- Divide into 12 equal parts and knead each part on a surface sprinkled with self-rising flour.
- Pat into a ruffled edge pie pan.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
- When layers cool, put sweetened, spiced applesauce between layers.
- Dried apples are also good between layers.
- Use your favorite spices in applesauce to taste.
- Makes two 6-layer cakes.
