Ingredients

  • 1 medium bag frozen beans or fresh green beans
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • water (enough to make a thin paste with cornstarch)
  • 2 strips bacon or 2 smoky links
  • 1 beef or chicken bouillon

Instructions

  1. Cook beans in water with bouillon cube until tender.
  2. Drain and save the broth; set the beans aside.
  3. Saute onion with bacon or smoky links until the onion is tender.
  4. Add the broth to the onion mixture and bring to a boil.
  5. Thicken the mixture with cornstarch mixed with water to make a thin paste.
  6. Add the cooked beans and mix until they are all covered with the broth.
  7. Serve hot.
