Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 c. water
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. dry minced onions
  • 8 to 10 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet and drain well.
  2. Add tomato sauce, water, chili powder, paprika, salt, dry minced onions, and bay leaves to the beef.
  3. Simmer the mixture for 30 to 40 minutes, skimming off excess grease as needed.
  4. Remove bay leaves and prepare a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch with water.
  5. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the chili and cook until it thickens.
