Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground pork butt
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium potato
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wet a saucepan and pour out all water.
  2. Add the ground pork to the pan; cover and cook on medium-high heat.
  3. Chop the onion and add it to the pork; stir and cover.
  4. Cut the potato in half and add it to the pan.
  5. Cover the pan with the pork and bring to steam, then simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Remove the potato, mash it without milk, and add it back to the meat mixture.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and allspice, then stir well.
  8. Cover and simmer for an additional 20 minutes.
  9. Turn off the heat and let stand for 30 minutes.
  10. Pour the mixture into a dish.
  11. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
