Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat
  • TexJoy Steak seasoning
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 or 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 16 oz frozen okra
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Season the ground meat with TexJoy Steak seasoning and set aside.
  2. In a cast iron pot, add the seasoned ground meat and chopped onions.
  3. Brown the meat and onions over medium heat, then drain off excess grease.
  4. Add the Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, tomato sauce, and frozen okra to the pot.
  5. Add enough water to cover the okra.
  6. Simmer over medium heat until the okra is tender.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve over rice with a slice of cornbread.
