Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Pat ground beef into about 2-inch patties.
  2. Brown the beef patties on both sides in a large skillet.
  3. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Brown flour in the fat remaining in the skillet.
  5. Slowly add water to the flour, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  6. Add milk, salt, and pepper, stirring continuously to prevent curdling.
  7. Return the hamburger patties to the skillet and simmer for about 15 minutes.
